UniData is MSF’s single source of truth for Product Information.
Technical Referents and Data Stewards across MSF regularly update the UniData database, validating all data about products and how they relate to each other. Access to UniData is limited to specific roles within MSF. However the data is accessible to all users via Front End tools like unicat.

Content Updates
Product information is regularly updated by SPINCO’s network of Data Stewards.
We work with technical referents from MED, SUPPLY and LOG to ensure that the information for both Standard and Non-standard information is accurate and complete.
Quality Check
All product information undergoes thorough data quality checks by the SPINCO team before it is published.
We check the data for Accuracy, Completeness, Consistency, Uniqueness, Validity and Accessibility.
This ensures trusted product information, critical for decision making in the Field and HQ.
Product Standardisation
Each year, SPINCO facilitates the process leading to formal validation of medical products as Standard Products. This process aligns MSF experties and field realities with Supply possibilities.
Working Groups and Medical Directors meet to review and agree which products should be made standard based on the Request Forms submitted througout the year.
UniQuality
UniQuality is a solution used by MSF Pharma network and Supply Centres that manages the information on the Quality Assurance process in MSF for Drugs, Medical Devices and Specialised food. Access is limited to specific roles.
Built on the UniData platform to ensure supplier and manufacturer information is linked to the latest accurate product information

We support several data integrations with systems acrosss MSF, enabling the latest accurate product information to be used in key processes in the Field and at HQ level.
You can also access several reports and receive data extracts to support process improvments.

In collaboration with MED, SUPPLY and LOG, the SPINCO team supports projects that leverage the power product information for process improvements across MSF.
Projects are selected by the SPINCO Steering Committee based on benefits and resources available within MED, SUPPLY and LOG.
